Silence Briggs

Silence was born on April 9th, 1779 in Shutesbury, MA..¹ Silence's father was Ebenezer Briggs and her mother was Silence Redding. Her paternal grandparents were Ebenezer Briggs and Margery Leonard. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Wirium, Life, Ebenezer, Amash, Sarah, Perley and Salley. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.¹
