John was born on February 19th, 1775.1   John's father was Jacob Booker and his mother was Mary Anne Witzell.  His maternal grandparents were Witzell and Cooper. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named Jacob N., Samuel P., William N, David Dariah, Henry Alexander, George L., Elizabeth, Susan, Sallie, Mary, Nancy Ann, Allison and Theresa Amelia.  He was the third oldest of the fourteen children.1
