Jacob Booker (also spelled Bucher Buker, Bugher, Buher) came to Frederick Co., Virginia, on a ship from Hamburg, Germany. His actual birthplace in unknown. He served in the Revolutionary War as a private in Captain Benjamin Briggs' Company, 7th Virginia Regiment, know also as Major Taylor's Company, 13th Virginia Regiment, commanded by Colonel Gibson. His name appears in the rolls from April 1779 to June 1783, which bears tge renarj: "Enlisted February 6th for the War" The rolls for June 1783 show the he was on furlough.
