Orville Oscar was born in 1849.1   Orville Oscar's father was William L. M. Benedict and his mother was Adelia Ann Benedict. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William L. M., Samuel, Rheuben James, Alonzo, Edgar Stacy, Adelia Ann, Caroline Rebecca, Mary Jane, Rachel E. and Martha.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.1
