1   Lamar's father was Jesse H. Beard and his mother was Freddie Baughman.  His paternal grandparents were Jesse Beard and Louisa Pengree. He had a brother and a sister, named Allen and Carrie. He had five half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Joseph Luther, Douglas Bowie, Perry, Tom, Willie, Ida, Nellie, Jennie, Catherine, Audrey Ivanetta, Jessie, Laura and Dora.1
