George Salmon Arnold 
George Salmon was born on September 8th, 1845 in Danville, Knox, OH.1 George Salmon's father was John Arnold and his mother was Christina Sapp. His paternal grandparents were Elias Arnold and Rachel Payne; his maternal grandparents were George Sapp and Margaret Logsdon. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Elias, Johannis, William Henry, John J, Margaret, Julia Anna, Sarah, Mary Mathilda, Anna Nancy, Christina Anna and Johanna. He was the fourth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 78 on April 16th, 1924 in Auburn, IN.1 General Notes

Obituary: George Solomon Arnold, second son of Christina and John
Arnold, was born in Knox County, OH, September 8, 1847, and departed this
life at the home of his son, Joseph Arnold, of Auburn, IN, April 16,
1914, aged 66 years, 7 months and 8 days.
!While a small boy, with this parents moved to Nobel Co., IN after which
they moved to a farm west of Leo, Allen Co. Residing there a few years
again moved north of Spencerville, DeKalb Co. In 1869 he was united in
marriage to Ellen Jenkins Malton, to which union were born seven
children, five of whom with the wife have preceded him to the spirit
world.
!Of a genial, sunny disposition he made friends with all whom he came in
contact, espcially the little children. A faith in God that had no end
that all would be well.
!He leaves to mourn their loss a daughter, Mrs. Anna Raickett of St. Joe;
a son, Joseph Arnold, of Auburn; two step children, Mrs. Ida Fisk and
Mrs. John Melton, of Waterloo; four grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Timmerman, east of
Huntertown, the only one left of the family. These with the relatives
and a host of friends.
