His paternal grandparents were Asa Sewell and Nancy Maria Mitchell; his maternal grandparents were James Riley Kitchens and Matilda A Hill. He had five brothers named Henry Jr, Asa, John, Robert and Perry. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 85 on November 22nd, 1962 in Lewisville, Lafayette Co., LaGrange Twp,AR.
