Asa was born on November 11th, 1802 in Franklin Co., GA.1 Asa's father was Joshua L Sewell and his mother was Jennie Willis. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Sewell and Christian Stover. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Samuel C, John, Christopher, James A, Joshua L, James A, Sally, Mary, Mary Polly, Sarah Sallie, Deborah, Nancy, Jane Jennie and Jennie. He died at the age of 59 on June 27th, 1862 in AR.1 General Notes
