Violante was born about 1352. Violante's father was Galeazzo II Visconti and her mother was Blanche Marie De Savoie. Her paternal grandparents were Stefano+ Visconti and Valentina+ Doria; her maternal grandparents were Aymon De Savoie and Violanta Palaiologina. She had a brother named Giangaleazzo.
