Jemima was born about 1733 in Orange Co., NC. Jemima's father was William+ Vestal and her mother was Elizabeth Mercer. Her paternal grandparents were William Vestal and Alice Glover; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mercer and Mary Greenaway. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, William, James, Thomas Curran+, David and Mary. She is the second youngest of the seven children. She has a half-brother named Joseph.General Notes
