Isabel was born before May 4th, 1380 in Argyllshire, Scotland. Isabel's father was Roger?+ Stewart and her mother was Margaret+ Graham. Her paternal grandparents were Robert II+ Stewart and Elizabeth+ Mure; her maternal grandparents were John+ Graham and Mary+ Stewart. She had a brother and two sisters, named Murdoch, Margaret+ Maria and Joan+. She is the second youngest of the four children.
