John Stanley 
John was born on October 11th, 1691 in New Kent Co., VA. John's father was Thomas Horton+ Stanley and his mother was Elizabeth+ Patten. His paternal grandparents were Edward Stanley and Elizabeth Bosville Wyatt; his maternal grandfather was Thomas+ Patten and his maternal grandmother is Mary+ Doughty. He had four brothers named James+, Edward, Thomas and Joseph+. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 91 on July 17th, 1783 in Hanover Co., VA.General Notes
