Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Horton+ Stanley and Elizabeth+ Patten; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas+ Hutchins and Mary+ Holmes Watkins. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Joshua, Thomas, Ursula and Agatha. She is the second oldest of the five children.
