Phillip Marion was born on July 24th, 1832 in Benton Co., MO. Phillip Marion's father was Phillip Shipton and his mother was Lucinda Halcomb. His paternal grandfather is Peter Shipton and his paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Easton. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel Andrew, Louis, Jasper, Newton, Sarah Ann, Almira, Eliza, Arzilla and Mary Lucinda. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 79 on November 22nd, 1911 in Dubuque Co., IA.General Notes
