Roger De+ was born on November 11th, 1328 in Ludlow, Shropshire, England. Roger De+'s father was Edmund De+ Mortimer and his mother was Elizabeth De+ Badlesmere. His paternal grandparents were Roger De+ Mortimer and Jeanne De+ Joinville; his maternal grandparents were Bartholomew De+ Badlesmere and Margaret De+ Clare. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Humphrey+ and Elizabeth De+. He died at the age of 31 on February 26th, 1360 in Rouvray, Cote-D'Orleans, France. Knight of the Garter
Researcher Reynaud de Paysac (below in cites) relates that although Edward III "confiscated all the Mortimer estates on the execution of the 1st Earl of March, he restored the last of them, as well as the the earldom, in 1356 to the earl's grandson, another Roger. He even restored some of the lands which the 1st Earl had stolen. The second Earl fought dutifully, being knighted alongside the Black Prince on the field at Crecy in 1346. Unfortunately , he succumbed to a sudden illness while fighting at Rouvray in 1360. (History of the Mortimer family)."
