Polly was born about 1795 in Surrey Co., NC. Polly's father was Thomas+ Mikels and her mother was Elizabeth+ Lyon. Her paternal grandparents were William Quiller+ Mickles and Clara+ England; her maternal grandparents are John+ Lyon and Sarah+ Robinson. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Joel, William Henry+, Thomas, Isaac, Susannah, Georgia, Sallie, Zilphia and Margaret. She is the oldest of the eleven children.General Notes
