Samuel Benton was born on September 10th, 1876 in Green Twp., Indiana Co., PA. Samuel Benton's father was George Learn and his mother was Hannah Catharine Black. His paternal grandfather is John Learn and his paternal grandmother was Catherine Rodkey. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Charles, John Roof, Hugh Franklin, Jacob Howard, Matilda, Elizabeth Jane, Anna Belle, Melissa Catherine, Mildred Pearl and Grace Amanda. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 95 on February 22nd, 1972 in Ambrose, Indiana Co., PA.General Notes
