Ludwig II von was born on December 26th, 1777 in Darmstadt, Germany. Ludwig II von's father was Ludwig I Von Rhein and his mother was Louise Von Hessen-Darmstadt. His paternal grandparents were Ludwig IX Von Hessen-Darmstadt and Karoline Von Wittelsbach; his maternal grandparents were Georg Wilhelm Von Hessen-Darmstadt and Maria Luise Von Leiningen. He was an only child. He died at the age of 70 on June 16th, 1848 in Darmstadt, Germany.General Notes
