James was born in 1477. James' father was James+ Hamilton and his mother was Mary+ Stewart. His paternal grandparents were James+ Hamilton and Janet+ Livingstone; his maternal grandparents were James II+ Stewart and Maria Of Gueldre D'+ Egmont.
