John Gist

John was born in 1722 in St. Paul's Parish, Baltimore, MD. John's father was Richard Gist and his mother was Zipporah Murray. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Gist and Edith Cromwell; his maternal grandparents were James Murray and Jemima Morgan. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Christopher, Richard, Nathaniel, William, Thomas, Edith, Jemima, Ruth and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 56 in 1778.
