Mary was born about 1785. Mary's father was Richard H. Gaines and her mother is Elizabeth Eastin. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Gaines and Ann Martha George; her maternal grandparents were Phillip Eastin and Elizabeth Douglas. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named James, Granville, Pendleton, Virginia and America.General Notes
