James Gaines 
James was born on June 11th, 1780 in Orange Co., VA. James' father was Richard H. Gaines and his mother is Rebecca Gatewood Barrett. His paternal grandparents were Henry Gaines and Ann Martha George. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Granville, Pendleton, Virginia and America. He was the oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Mary. He died at the age of 94 on September 9th, 1874 in Scott Co., KY.General Notes
