Scrope was born on August 11th, 1681 in Dodleston, Herefordshire, England. Scrope's father was John Egerton and his mother was Jane Paulet. His paternal grandparents were John Egerton and Elizabeth Cavendish; his maternal grandparents were Charles Paulet and Mary Le Scrope. He had a brother named Henry. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 63 on January 11th, 1745. He was buried on January 20th, 1745 in Little Gaddesdon, Herefordshire, England.General Notes
