Solomon was born on September 3rd, 1830 in Salisbury Precinct, Coles Co., IL. Solomon's father was Solomon Preston Brandenburg and his mother was Eliza Alizan Williams. His paternal grandparents were Henry Emerson Brandenburg and Sarah Henrietta Preston. He had a brother named William Henry. He is the younger of the two children.General Notes
