John William Ashbaugh 
John William was born on November 22nd, 1833 in Cox's Creek, Nelson Co., KY. John William's father was James Christopher Ashbaugh and his mother was Suellen Elender Thompson. His paternal grandparents were David Ashbaugh and Catherine Shoptaugh. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Frederick, George Edward, Joseph H., Thomas, Anne E., Mary Jane, Julia, Verlinda, Eliza Ann, Mariah, Missouri and Belle.
