Boto, known as "the Bold", was born in 1026. "the Bold"'s father was Pfalzgrave Hartwig II of Bavaria and his mother is Friderunda of Bavaria. His paternal grandparents were Pfalzgraf Aribo I of Bavaria and Adela of Bavaria; his maternal grandfather was Count Reting II of Bavaria and his maternal grandmother is Glismode of Saxony. He had a brother named Boto. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 78 on March 1st, 1104.-
