His paternal grandfather was Earl Jean de Conteville of Comyn and his paternal grandmother is Jean de Mellent; his maternal grandparents were Chamberlain Rollo Fulbert de Falaise and Duxia de Falaise. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Muriel and Emma. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ralph, "the Conqueror", Adâelaèide, Godiva and Felicia. He died in 1097 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.General Notes
