Owain, known as "Gwynedd", was born in Caernarvonshire, Wales.  "Gwynedd"'s father was King Gruffydd ap Cynan of Gwynedd and his mother was Angharad verch Owain.  His paternal grandparents are Prince Cynan ap Iago of Gwynedd and Rhanullt ingen Olaf; his maternal grandfather was King Owain Vradwr ap Edyin of Gwynedd and his maternal grandmother is Morwyl verch Ednywain. He had a brother and five sisters, named Cadwaladr, Gwenlian, Rhanullt, Gwenllian, Susanna and Margred.  He died on November 28th, 1170 in Caernarvonshire, Wales.  He was buried in Bangor Cathedral, Is Gwyrfai, Caernarvonshire, Wales.


"Gwynedd"'s first family with Gwenllian verch Ednywain

‌"Gwynedd" and Gwenllian were married in a religious ceremony about 1105 in Caernarvonshire, Wales.  They had a daughter named Gwenllian.


"Gwynedd"'s second family with Christina verch Gronw

‌"Gwynedd" and Christina were married in a religious ceremony before 1155.  They had a daughter named Angharad.


"Gwynedd"'s third family with Gladys verch Llywarch

They had a son and a daughter, named "Drwyndwn" and Gwenllian.
