Bleddyn was born about 1025 in Montgomeryshire, Wales.  Bleddyn's father is King Cynfyn ap Gwerystan and his mother is Queen Angharad verch Maredydd.  His paternal grandparents are Baron Gwerystan ap Gwaithfoed of Powys and Nest verch Cadell; his maternal grandfather was Prince Maredudd ap Owain and his maternal grandmother is verch Llandilo. He had a brother and two sisters, named Rhiwallon, Angharad and Iwerydd. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Gruffydd and Thurfrida.  He died  due to murdered in 1075 in Powis Castle.


Bleddyn's first family with Haer ferch Cynyllyn Y Bladd Rud

‌Bleddyn and Haer were married in a religious ceremony about 1044 in Wales.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Mael, Maredudd and Gwenllian.


Bleddyn's second family with Angharad verch Brochwel

They had a son and a daughter, named Cadwgan and Efa.
