Cadwgan was born about 1035 in Montgomery, Wales.  Cadwgan's father was Prince Bleddyn ap Cynfyn of Powys and his mother is Angharad verch Brochwel.  His paternal grandparents are King Cynfyn ap Gwerystan and Queen Angharad verch Maredydd; his maternal grandfather is Brochwel ap Moelyn. He had a sister named Efa. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Mael, Maredudd and Gwenllian.  He died  due to slain in 1111.


Cadwgan's first family with Gwenlian verch Gruffudd

‌Cadwgan and Gwenlian were married in a religious ceremony about 1055 in Montgomeryshire, Wales.  They had a son named Madog.


Cadwgan's second family with Egron verch Hoedlyn

They had a son named Owain.
