Chlothar, known as "The Old", was born in 0498 in Rheims, Marne, Loire-Atlantique, France.  "The Old"'s father was King Chlodovech ("The Great") I of France and his mother was Chrotechilde (St. Clotilda) of Burgundy.  His paternal grandparents were King Childeric I of the Franks and Princess Basina Thuringia II; his maternal grandparents were King Chilperich of Burgundy and Aggripina of Burgundy. He had a sister named Clotilde.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 63 on November 23rd, 0561 in Braines, Loire-Atlantique, France.  He was buried in Abbaye De St Mâedard, Soissons, France.


"The Old"'s first family with Ingonde von Thuringia

‌"The Old" and Ingonde were married in a religious ceremony in 0517 in France.  They had two sons named Charibert and Charibert.


"The Old"'s second family with Princess Rodegunda of Thuringia

They had a son named Chilperic.


"The Old"'s third family with Princess Waldrada of the Lombards

They had a daughter named Blitildes.
