Philippe d'Avranches 
Philippe was born about 1084 in Avranches, Manche, Normandy. Philippe's father was Hugh d'Aurange Lupus Earl of Chester and his mother is Hermentrude Ermengard de Clermont. His paternal grandparents were Richard "Le Goz" Vicomte D'Avranches and Lady Emma de Conteville; his maternal grandparents were Hugh I de Creil de Beauvais Count of Clermont and Margaret de Roucy Montdidier. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Abbot of, Othewell, Richard, Robert, Maud, Mavila and Geva. He is the fourth youngest of the eight children.General Notes
