William D. was born on October 10th, 1794 in Adair Co, Ky (formed 1801 from Green Co). William D.'s father was Archelaus\Archer Wheeler and his mother was Mildred Lyle. His paternal grandfather was John Wheeler and his paternal grandmother is Unknown. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Archelaus, Henry J., John, Allen, Benjamin"Mine", Charles, Samuel, Mildred, Mary "Polly" and Nancy. He died at the age of 72 on June 8th, 1867 in Hart Couonty, Ky.-
