Samuel Wheeler 
Samuel was born about 1790 in Adair Co, Ky. Samuel's father was Archelaus\Archer Wheeler and his mother was Mildred Lyle. His paternal grandfather was John Wheeler and his paternal grandmother is Unknown. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Archelaus, Henry J., John, Allen, Benjamin"Mine", Charles, William D., Mildred, Mary "Polly" and Nancy. He died before 1840 in Shelby Co, In.General Notes
Sam and Malinda had four children born in Kentucky; then moved to ShelbyCo, Indiana in the early 1830's. One of the children was Nicholas who,with his family, moved to Altoona, Iowa and was the first merchant inAltoona.
Another son, William, born 1820 in KY, was living near his parentsin 1840 on a farm, as shown by the 1840 Census of Jackson Twp, Shelby Co,Indiana. He was not there in 1850 according to the census. He justseems to have disappeared.
Anne Astley bellieves him to have been the same person as GreenWheeler. According to the census of Polk Coounty, Green was born 1820 inKy. He died Nov 10, 1877 at age 57.
