Agnes de was born about 1074 in St. Saveur, Normandy, France.  Agnes de's father was Robert de Toeni Castellan of Stafford and her mother was Adela Adeliza Osule de Savona.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger I d'Espagne ('The Spaniard') Toeni Lord of Guerny and Godhilda Goodchild Adelaide of Barcelona. She had four brothers and a sister, named Geoffrey de, William, Robert de, Berenger de Tosny Todeni and Alice Adeliza. She had a half-brother named Nicholas.
