William De was born about 1175 in Hamilton, Leicestershire, England. William De's father was Robert III De Beaumont III;Earlof Leicester; 3rd and his mother was Petronille De Grentmesnil. His paternal grandparents were Robert "The Just" De Beaumont Earl Of Leicester and Amice de Montfort Waiet; his maternal grandparents were Hugh II De Grentmesnil and Alice Beaumont. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert "Fitz-Parnell", Roger, William De, Geoffrey De, Pernel De, Maud de, Margaret De, Amicia, Mabel De and Hawise De. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died in Scotland.-
