William Thompson Hadley 
William Thompson was born on July 15th, 1814 in Chatham County, North Carolina.1 William Thompson's father was Simon Hadley and his mother was Elizabeth Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Joshua Hadley and Ruth Lindley; his maternal grandparents were James Thompson and Martha Chambers. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named James Thompson, Jonathan Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Simon Thompson, John T., Thomas Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Martha, Ruth, Sarah T., Elizabeth T., Eleanor and Mary T.. He was the youngest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 75 on November 17th, 1889.1 General Notes

Married 12 11, 1837, to Beulah Hunt (died 1 23, 1843). Married again 10 1, 1843, to Ruth Woody. Children by first wife--Tillman and Daniel, d'c'd, 8 mo. 2, 1865; by second wife, Harriet S., Martha T. (died 12 25, 1864) and Mary E. (died 12 21, 1869.)
