Sarah Elizabeth was born on July 23rd, 1865 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Sarah Elizabeth's father was Henry Mitchell Skaggs and her mother was Lurena Elizabeth Carroll. Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Skaggs and Rebecca Orrick. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas Mitchell, Joseph Henry, James Lewis, Marvin S., Lucretia, Melvina Jane, Mary Ann, Marion and Chrisse C.. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 68 on June 9th, 1934 in Litchfield, Montogomery Co., Illinois.1 General Notes
