Mary Ann was born on December 28th, 1864 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Mary Ann's father was Henry Mitchell Skaggs and her mother was Lurena Elizabeth Carroll. Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Skaggs and Rebecca Orrick. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas Mitchell, Joseph Henry, James Lewis, Marvin S., Lucretia, Melvina Jane, Sarah Elizabeth, Marion and Chrisse C.. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 71 on October 8th, 1936 in Leitchfield, Grayson, Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
