James Riley was born on April 4th, 1867 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 James Riley's father is Moses Riley Skaggs and his mother is Mary Pierce. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Skaggs and Martha Prather. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William Henry, Joseph Barbee, Lucy E., Nancy Ann, Mariah P. and Mary L.. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 72 in 1939 in Marion Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
