Zula Mae was born on September 30th, 1886 in Paris, Texas.1 Zula Mae's father was Leroy Davis Sanders and her mother was Irene Basham. Her paternal grandparents are Rueben Sanders and Elizabeth West; her maternal grandparents were William Farmer Basham and Mary Mandeville Webb. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Lee, Marion Houston, George Simpson, Gertrue B. and Mammie. She died at the age of 75 on August 17th, 1962 in Zephyr, Texas.
