Know all persons that I Jonathan Basham do make my last will and Testa
me nt baring date the twenty sixth of December 1836 To Elizabeth Basham du
ri ng her widowship the following articles to wit Two hundred and ninety a
cr es of Land and my stock of cattle horses sheep and hogs and what too
ls a nd the rest of what I have in possession to which I have set my ha
nd and s eal this 26th of December 1836.

This day personally came James H. Basham and Lucey Basham and Robert M
oo re in open court and when duly sworn deposeth and saith that the foreg
oi ng writing purporting to be the will of Jonathan Basham was writt
en by t he said Jas H. Basham in the lifetime of the said Jonathan and dur
ing h is last sickness and at the request of the said Jonathan Basham a
nd that t he said Jonathan Basham was at the time of writing the same of s
ound mi nd and disposing mind and memory.

ti ve will of Jonathan Basham (deceased) this 27th day of February 1837.

Know all men by these presents that we James H. Basham Richard Hogan a
nd W illiam Hogan are held and firmly bound unto Green P. Rice Judge of t
he Cou nty Court of Morgan County State of Alabama and his successors in o
ffi ce in the penal sum of Two Thousand five hundred Dollars to which pay
me nt will and truly to be made. We and each of us do bind ourselves, or h
ei rs be firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated the 27
th d ay of February Eighteen Hundred and thirty seven. Now the conditi
on of t he above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Jam
es H. Basham h ath been duly appointed administrator with the nuncupati
ve will annex ed of the estate of Johnathan Basham Deceased now is said Ja
mes H. Bash am shall well and truly perform all the duties which are or m
ay be by l aw required of him as administrator aforesaid there the above o
bligati on to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. Witness o
