Anson B. Sams 
Anson B. was born on January 15th, 1819 in Tennessee.1 Anson B.'s father was Gabriel C. Sams and his mother was Mary Polly Hampton. His paternal grandfather was John Warren Sams and his paternal grandmother is Agnes Blackwell. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named John Henry, Ezekiel G., Robert B., Gabriel C.,Jr., Celia, Susannah, Jane, Elizabeth, Bridget, Margaret Elizabeth and Nancy M.. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 74 on February 1st, 1893 in Rabun Co., Georgia.1 General Notes
