James Burton Prestridge 
James Burton was born on June 18th, 1838 in Sumpter Co., Alabama.1 James Burton's father was Benjamin Bagley Prestridge and his mother was Mary Ann Ezell. His paternal grandparents were Joseph N. Prestridge and Elizabeth D. Bagley. He had a brother named William Ashmund. He was the older of the two children. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named George Harris, Benjamine Babley, Jr., Charles Henry, Joseph Gideon, Ellen Jane, Sarah Elizabeth and Nancy Ann. He died at the age of 18 on July 6th, 1856.1 -
