Emily Ellen was born on August 28th, 1852.1 Emily Ellen's father was James Madison Prestridge and her mother was Emily S. Ezell. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph N. Prestridge and Elizabeth D. Bagley. She had two brothers and five sisters, named William A., Joseph Benjamin, Milissa Jane, Elizabeth Ann, Matilda Emaline, May Louise and Martha M.. She is the youngest of the eight children.-
