George Porter

George was born on November 25th, 1787 in Orange Co., Virginia.¹   George's father is Abner Porter and his mother is Hanna Ingram.  His paternal grandfather was Benjamin Porter and his paternal grandmother is Mary Ann Campbell; his maternal grandparents are John Ingram and Elizabeth Hawkins. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Alexander, Abner, Alexander, William, Benjamin F., Samuel S., Frances, Elizabeth Hawkins, Lucy, Maria, Nancy C. and Verlinda Alexander.  He is the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.
