Alexander Porter

Alexander was born on December 7th, 1772 in Orange Co., Virginia.¹   Alexander's father is Abner Porter and his mother is Hanna Ingram.  His paternal grandfather was Benjamin Porter and his paternal grandmother is Mary Ann Campbell; his maternal grandparents are John Ingram and Elizabeth Hawkins. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Abner, Alexander, William, George, Benjamin F., Samuel S., Frances, Elizabeth Hawkins, Lucy, Maria, Nancy C. and Verlinda Alexander.  He is the second oldest of the thirteen children.
