Martin Luther was born on November 7th, 1878 in Coryell, Co., Texas.1 Martin Luther's father was David Mitchell and his mother was Lydia Ellen Blackwell. His maternal grandparents were Joel Blackwell and Sarah Ememline Graham. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John Howard, Walter Scott, William Arthur, Travis Blackwell, Thomas Stuart, Laura Estelle, Ruth and Ruby Delores. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 57 on March 18th, 1936 in Abeline, Taylor Co., Texas.1 General Notes
