Nellie Gertrude Hale 
Nellie Gertrude was born in 1895 in Texas.1 Nellie Gertrude's father was Morehouse Latting Hale and her mother was Eliza Johnston. Her maternal grandparents were William E. Johnston and Elizabeth Miles Allen. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Iva Chester, Arthur Leonard, Leslie Johnston, Geraldine Elizabeth and Marguerite Estell. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 77 on July 7th, 1972 in Covina, Los Angles Co., California. She was buried in Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Whittier, Los Angles Co., Califorina.1 1 General Notes
