Gowan Hairsine 
Gowan was born on April 16th, 1855.1 Gowan's father was Thomas Hairsine and his mother was Margerie Robson. His paternal grandparents were Charles Hairsine and Mary Shipley. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Charles, James T., Joseph Robson, Leonard, Thomas Malcolm, Alfred, Mary, Jane and Rebecca. He was the youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 83 on January 28th, 1939.1 General Notes

Gowan and Rebecca were married in a religious ceremony in 1877.1 They had four sons and a daughter, named Casper, Ivan, Sidney, Carl and Jenny Nelly Maude.
